Google Maps’ new street level tool shows a house on fire
Google Maps’ new Street Level tool has caught many people unawares, gawking at strange cameras mounted on cars and generally made people feel uneasy about public image rights!
It is a great tool and I’m sure in future (once enough places are mapped out) it will be much used for scoping out addresses. Until then we’ll have to marvel at this particular location that is on fire! If you look around to the right you can see a couple of fire engines working on the blaze!
Ah google, what will you have next for us? Secret Nuclear facilities in North Korea? ;)

This may not be revelant but i figured i’d post this anyway. If you’re using ubuntu 8.10 you may be in for some issues with the network manager. For some unknown reason it stops functioning. You will need to manually set you’re resolv.conf with your ISP’s DNS servers. That file is located in /etc/network/resolv.conf

If it is still installed then right-click on any toolbar and click “stumbleupon toolbar” to reactivate it. If the stumbleupon toolbar does not appear in the list then you’ll need to either re-enable the addon (firefox: tools | add-ons | extensions, find stumble upon and then hit enable), or you’ll need to go to the stumble upon website and reinstall the toolbar from there.

Funny, I was discussing this point with my older sister the other day, now I’ll have one much more argument in my hand when it’ll come to confrontation when yet again….
